Jordan Trekking Holidays and Tours

image

Our trekking programs involve walking several days with vehicle support for luggage and food. Examples of these programs in Jordan would be the trek from Petra to Rum, or the trek from Dana to Petra, as well as multi day hiking in Wadi Rum. These trips give you the opportunity to traverse dramatic scenery of varied rock and desert terrain, as well as giving you panoramic views. You will often follow ancient routes from the eras of the Nabateans, Romans and others. Today these routes are still used by the Bedouin for shepherding or as shortcuts. Along the way you will experience the diverse flora and fauna of the desert, the rich geological rocks, hidden springs, ancient remains, Bedouin life, and much more.

Below are a couple of sample programs. We have many more programs or we can customise an itinerary to your specific requirements. Contact us for details.

We visit the shrine at the top and enjoy the panoramic views before to continuing to Wadi Sabra to camp near the Roman remains – ruins of buildings and amphitheatre carved in the rock. Continue trekking the wadis towards to Araba valley in the Jebal Mas’uda area. This area has dramatic carved sandstone canyons with multi-coloured rocks. We follow Bedouin routes that were once used by Nabateans and today are used by shepherds. We climb up to the Rock Bridge of Khorma with its views across to the Jordan Valley. At the foot of the rock bridge are thousands of Nabatean pottery shards and signs of ancient life. Our nights will be spent camping wild along the route. We then ascend to Ghweirah from where we have a final transfer to Wadi Rum.
